Taking the M50-88 out of its box was much easier than I expected. At just 20kg or thereabouts, it's remarkably light, and I immediately warmed to something that offered me an 88-note keyboard in an instrument, yet didn't weigh a ton. Rather than install a low-cost keyboard from a third-party manufacturer, Korg have opted to equip the M50-88 with their top-of-the-range RH3 keybed, as found on their more expensive workstations and pianos. Not only does this feel good, but because it offers four response zones that give it a heavier feel at the bottom end than at the top, it responds similarly to a 'real' piano. Given the price of the M50-88, the inclusion of the RH3 is a very pleasant surprise. |
