This is high performance non-isolated DC to DC stepdown adjustable power supply module based on the LM2596 switching regulator IC. It can be used as a constant voltage supply, or as a current limited LED driver or battery charger.
It can take any DC input voltage from 7 to 35 volts. The output can be adjusted for both voltage and current limiting, so it can be used to drive almost any DC load you can think of.

To use it as a voltage controller, just set the current limit to maximum and adjust the voltage to suit your requirements. To use it as a current limiter, such as a LED driver, set the voltage to more than the LED Vf and then adjust the current to suit the LED.

•Potentiometer adjustment direction: clockwise (increase), counterclockwise (decrease)
•Indicator: Outer red LED is constant current, centre red LED is battery charging/load applied, blue LED is battery fully charged or just power on.
•Output short circuit protection: Yes, constant current (depending on the constant current setting)
•Input reverse polarity protection: No, do not connect in reverse or damage to the converter may result! If reverse connection is a possibility, use a suitably rated diode in series with the converter.
Setting for battery charge use:
1) Make sure of the voltage and current of the battery you need to charge.
2) Adjust the constant voltage potentiometer to set the output voltage to the required maximum charge voltage.
3) Use your multimeter in 10A current mode to measure the output short-circuit current of the converter and adjust the current potentiometer to the required maximum output current charging value.
4) When fully charged, the module will change to 'charged' mode and reduce the current to the value set by the centre potentiometer.
5) Connect to the battery, try charging.
For LED constant current driver usage:
1) Make sure of the operating current and max operating voltage (Vf) of the LED you need to drive.
2) Adjust the constant voltage potentiometer to make sure the output voltage is up to at least the LED maximum operating voltage.
3) Use your multimeter in 10A current mode to measure the output short-circuit current and adjust the current potentiometer to the required LED drive current.
4) Attach the LED and test.
