The earliest recordings from 1954 and 1955 are provided by a quartet of ladies, Gloria Mann, Edna McGriff, Donna Hightower, Eunice Davis. Then its full rocking and rolling with the teens joining the established artists in a melee for a hit; Linda Hopkins, The Bobbettes, Teen Queens, battle with established artists, Ella Johnson, and Katie Webster with assistance from Ashton Conroy to gain a chart hit. The 1960s found again new and established artists keeping the previous decades music alive namely, Dee Dee Sharp, Betty OBrien, Tiny Topsy and many more.
