Biologo e investigador en los campos de la psicologia cognitiva de la memoria y el aprendizaje, ha sido profesor tanto en la educacion secundaria como en la universidad. Su carrera cientifica se ha desarrollado en centros de investigacion de Estados Unidos como la Universidad de Washington y el Jet Propulsion Laboratory (NASA) de California. En los ultimos quince años, ha trabajado en el desarrollo de recursos educativos fundamentados en la evidencia cientifica en torno al aprendizaje, que han alcanzado a centenares de miles de estudiantes en Europa y America.
