She also has a vast theater background with original productions to her credit in New York City, Washington D.C., Virginia and Colorado. She honed her acting and writing craft at the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute. Her vocal work first appeared on the Silver Wave label on Peter Katers Homeage release, and was acclaimed on the Migration release. Described as a lovely voice that really tugs at the heart by New Frontier Magazine, Chris voice is captivating, evocative and sensual.Peter Kater feels this is an absolute collaboration for him from many standpoints. Peter and Chris say that the making of lovemoods was an adventure into a deep and ancient place a place of union. German-born, pianist-composer Peter Kater lives and works out of rural Washington, Virginia. He moved there several years ago after thirteen years in Boulder, Colorado. Katers debut album Spirit, was released in 1983, and thirteen records have followed. These works range from inspired solo piano to full jazz ensemble projects. Four of these recordings have reached the Top 20 on Billboards New Age Chart, and all of them have topped national radio airplay charts. In addition to his albums he has composed original scores for Broadway, Off-Broadway, television and dance.Glen Velez provides the extraordinary percussion for this recording. Velez is an internationally recognized master drummer, composer, scholar and teacher who has merged his background in Western percussion with the study of tambourine performance styles from around the world. He has taken his experience in these different traditions in frame drumming and forged a new and unique approach to music. He has been the percussionist with the Paul Winter Consort since 1983.David Darling, who was featured on Migration, has joined the ensemble for lovemoods. Darling is a maverick instrumentalist with an international reputation. He has spent a number of years with the likes of the Paul Winter Consort and Oregon, and has since released seven of his own albums. His newest critically acclaimed work is entitled Cello (ECM Records). Darling recently completed the score for Wim Wenders film, Until the End of the World.Violinist Cecil Hooker and saxophonist Bobby Read have given inspired performances that weave throughout the piece, drawing on a diverse background of classical, folk and jazz. Both are members of the group Trapezoid.
