Right after receiving information form one his insiders Fred Porlock, working in criminal mastermind Professor Moriarty’s gang, Sherlock receives news of the death of the same person that Porlock had warned would be attacked. Sherlock and Watson head off to Birlstone Manor House where the scene of the crime and the condition of the body initially imply that the death had actually been a suicide.
